Why We Went Back To The Original Keratin Formula

In 2011 we launched the original Uberliss Keratin Treatment consisting of 3 steps. Those with frizzy, wavy, unmanageable hair textures loved the formula to smooth and soften their unruly hair. But while the formula was great for smoothing, it tended to lift color-treated hair.

In 2017 we attempted to address the concern for color-treated hair and introduced the new 2-step Uberliss Keratin Treatment featuring a formula containing lower levels of Glyoxylic Acid. And while this was great for color-treated hair, the updated treatment was not smoothing as well as it used to.

After listening to a lot of feedback from stylists and consumers saying the newer version didn’t work as well, we’ve come to the conclusion that one size does not fit all when it comes to smoothing and defrizzing hair. Everyone’s hair is different and one formula is not going to work for all hair types and conditions.

We have gone ahead and changed it back to the original formula, keeping the original clientele in mind. Those with super frizzy, coarse, unmanageable hair were always our first concern with the Uberliss Keratin Treatment. The best part is, the treatment is still only 2-steps and comes with our Uberliss Frizz Elixir to protect hair from any damage caused by the flat-ironing step. The Uberliss Frizz Elixir also helps with any flyaways and leaves hair super shiny and soft.

But that's not all!

We haven’t forgotten about our color-treated friends. We’re currently working on a new Color Safe Keratin using a different technology than our current Keratin Treatment. This new treatment will be completely color safe and will be cross-compatible with Step 1 of the current Uberliss Keratin Treatment. *Clients will be able to receive keratin and color their hair the same day.*

Sincerely,

Hasan, Uberliss President
